Biography
Mohamed Naguib (1901-1984) was the first President of Egypt, serving from 1953 to 1954. A military officer, he was instrumental in the Egyptian Revolution of 1952 that overthrew King Farouk. Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Naguib was one of the founding figures of the Egyptian Republic and a symbol of the anti-colonial movement.
